How does Alt work?
Alt Academy is a subscription-based online learning platform that provides learners the opportunity to prepare for their A Levels at their own pace.
We have two plans, starter and plus, the plus plan offers unlimited access to both AS and A2 content along with their respective supplementary materials, such as pre-recorded video material, revision guides, skill checks, flashcards, past paper solutions along with an extensive academic support forum for you to clear your questions queries and concerns :)
The starter plan gives you limited access to the same resources for you to test out whether the product is a good fit for you :)
Just so we're on the same page, Alt Academy does NOT offer online classes or private tutoring. However, near exam season, our Instructional Designers do host live past paper & study sessions for select courses, which are also included in your plus subscription.
Please note that Alt Academy does not grant any completion certificates. When you take a course at Alt, it’s meant to help you prep for and ace your CAIE exam. The completion of each course is based on you and your need.

Can I get printouts of the notes and worksheets?
To be able to access the material, you will need to log in to Alt. Subject notes and past papers are downloadable and you're free to print them (which we'd suggest you don't because paper comes from trees...) at your convenience. Revision guides and flashcards can only be viewed via the platform and not downloadable.
I am having trouble with the subscription fee, is there any way I could get a discount?
Hello! We apologise for any inconvenience, but as of now, we’re not offering any discounts for the platform. We’d be happy to help if you have any other questions queries or concerns… [if student replies with “I can’t afford it”] Well we do have a scholarship program you can apply for, by reaching out to us at team@altacademy.org. If you’re a good fit, we’ll get you a scholarship to enable access :)) Does that sound good?
What is the leadership board for?
The leadership board displays the learners with the highest level of engagement over the course of the week, month, and of all time.
Courses & Academic Content
Is O Level content available on the platform?
We do offer O Level Content for Chemistry & Physics, but this material is incomplete. We’re working on updating our content and releasing more with time.
Is the content updated according to the new syllabus?
Yes, all AS & A2 Level video lessons for Chemistry, Physics, Math, Economics, Accounts, Business and Computer Science are complete! For Physics, we're currently updating the content. Nonetheless, the syllabus is complete in its current form. For Biology and Psychology, we're currently developing and releasing video material. Revision guides and academic support are currently available for these subjects.
Do I have to start the Alt Academy Course at a certain time? How long do I have to complete it?
The beauty of an Alt course is — start anytime, anywhere. Each course has been thoughtfully designed to allow you to hit your learning goals at your own convenience. Each course includes video lessons that add up to approximately 40 hours and each student can complete it at their own pace. Just make sure you’re giving yourself enough time to prepare, based on your own needs.
What does the Alt Academy Course include?
Alt Academy is an online A Level Learning Platform. We provide our learners all kinds of resources to help make their A Levels easier. We provide 9 different subjects, giving you unlimited access to Course Videos, Revision Guides, Notes, Skill Checks, Flash Cards, Solved Past Papers, along with access to an extensive academic forum where you can get your questions, queries and concerns cleared out!
And that’s not all, we also help guide you for your college and oncoming career! We’re the complete package!
Are all the courses complete?
Yes, all AS & A2 Level video lessons for Chemistry, Physics, Math, Economics, Accounts, Business and Computer Science are complete! For Biology and Psychology, we're currently developing and releasing video material. Revision guides and academic support are currently available for these subjects.
Where can I go for help with concepts and questions for subjects?
If you’re a Plus user, you have unlimited access to a team of subject experts, including our Instructional Designers (IDs), and a dynamic community of fellow learners from all over the world. You can post your academic questions on the tutor led academic support space for your relevant course, and you’ll get an answer within 24 hours. You also have access to a global community of peers via the Peer to Peer support spaces on the platform to get help on anything related to your academics. Just post a question and have other peers help you out.
How do I access the flashcards?
We are currently in the process of making this experience better — so you won’t be able to find flashcards on the platform at this time Let us know if you need further assistance.
How do I access the Alt in 90/ Alt in 60 program?
Just so we're on the same page, Altin60 and Altin90 are included within the Plus subscription. You can access these study plans via the My Courses option on the header tab at the top of the Community page. Once you’ve clicked on this link, you can scroll down to find both the programs available, or simply search for them through the search bar.
Is Practical content available on alt?
As of now, we only offer very select resources to help students prepare for practicals, such as Paper 3 and 5 for the Physical Science subjects — we do not recommend students prepare solely from these resources at this point in time. However, paid users can reach out to our subject experts on the tutor-led support forum for any questions they have.
Payment & Billing
How can I pay for the course?
We offer multiple packages with two payment options. To make it easier for you, here are the options listed below;
PayPro which allows you to transfer funds directly to us through any bank account/digital wallet, such as EasyPaisa, Jazz Cash, etc. This option is applicable to those residing in Pakistan.
Pay through your Debit/Credit Card.
How do I pay through PayPro?
Sure, it's pretty straightforward. In order to pay through Bank Transfer, Jazz Cash or Easy Paisa, once you've begun the sign up process at check out you'll find 2 payment methods:
Debit/Credit Card
IBFT/Paypro. Click on option 2. You'll be routed to the Paypro window and can continue your payment from there. Next:
Once you do that it will lead you to a page where a one time PayPro payment ID will be generated that is valid for the next 24 hours.
Log in your JazzCash application and find PayPro in the Corporate Payment options, once you find PayPro paste the same ID and complete the transaction. Here's the link to help you with payment through mobile banking.
Once you've paid, your subscription will automatically be activated
You can now log in and start learning. Feel free to reach out again if you're stuck anywhere.
I lost the password to the Alt platform, what do I do?

Is it possible to get a refund?
Refunds are applicable only for your first subscription, that too, if applied for within the first 7 days. However, if you cancel your subscription after a renewal, the refund will not be processed as per our terms and conditions. Alt Academy is a subscription based service and hence auto renew is a default. However, please turn off auto-renewal in order to avoid any future renewals via this link, just toggle the auto-renewal option to grey and it will stop renewing your subscription. If you have any further queries, feel free to get back to us again.
How do I stop auto-renewal payments?
Turning off auto-renewal is pretty simple! All you have to do is go to the link below and toggle the auto-renewal option to grey; this will stop your subscription from renewing.

Can you please change my email address for sign-up purposes?
Unfortunately, the email address associated with your account cannot be changed. If you would like to use another email address, you'll have to subscribe again with a fresh email.
Do note, this will impact your course usage data and also your billing cycle
How many devices can access a single account?
The platform can only be accessed via one device at a time, logging in from a second device would be at the expense of being logged out from the first :)
Can I cancel my subscription or delete my account?
You may cancel your subscription by clicking on “Account Settings” in your profile. We apologise for any inconvenience you’ve experienced that’s causing you to take this decision, but we’d really like to know what we can do to make it better for you. Please let us know the areas you’ve faced trouble in, and we will work on improving those for you right away.

What’s the difference between Plus and Starter plans?
With the Plus plan, you get unlimited access to the platform and it’s offerings. This includes the following:

The Starter plan is to help you get a flavour of all that Alt has to offer. It includes limited access to all courses, alongside access to specific video lessons and supplementary material, as well as peer to peer support and Guidance at Alt.
Can I get a free trial for A-level Plus?
You cannot avail a free trial for A Level Plus. However, you can opt for the Starter Plan to get a flavour of the material within the Plus Plan.
It's probably a good time to let you know about our 7 day refund policy. If you would like to get started with Plus, but don't like what you see, you can claim a full refund within the first 7 days of your subscription. Do note, this does not apply to renewals nor after the 7 day period.

If I opt for a quarterly or yearly subscription will I be charged every month?
No, all our transactions are billed in advance, in one go.
What is the difference between Alt Plus and Alt in 40, 60, 90?
There's no difference in content for Alt in 45, 60, 90 and our Standard Courses. They're just structured differently. Our Alt in 45, 60 and 90 study plans are merely study plans to help you complete the course in the mentioned number of days. However, if you opt in for Mission 45, the course at the moment is designed for the Oct/Nov 2023 exam season and also has additional assessment material for you to do on your own. Lastly if you choose to join the Cohort, you will be assigned a mentor who will help you through this exam cycle and help you stay on track with your prep
How do I renew my subscriptions?
If you're asking this, we're so happy to hear you'd like to continue with your subscription!
If you've paid via the "Debit/Credit Card" method at check out, your subscription auto-renews. You can switch this off at anytime you like from the settings tab on the community. However, if you did not switch this off and your subscription did not auto-renew, there might be an issue on your banks end. Please get in contact with your bank to understand the issue. You may switch your billing details, that's not a problem.
However, if you've gone for the "IBFT/Paypro" method, you can renew your subscription via this link: https://altacademy.org/my-account/subscriptions/ . Simply select your subscription, and click on renewal to re-subscribe. Keep in mind, if you do not renew your subscription on time, your access will be temporarily blocked. Failure to renew your subscription within 5 days will block your account permanently and you'll have to resubscribe to gain access again.
